About the Centre
The Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre (HALC) is a vibrant, community-focused facility located in the heart of Hawthorn, Victoria. Operated by YMCA Victoria, HALC offers state-of-the-art amenities including a 50-metre outdoor heated pool, a 20-metre indoor warm water pool, a fully equipped 800-square-metre gym, and over 100 weekly group fitness classes. Additional features such as a sauna, on-site café, and crèche service make it a welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities. About the Role
As a Duty Manager at HALC, you will have delegated authority of the Centre Manager, and will maintain a broad knowledge of centre programs and services whilst at the same time managing a range of centre functions whilst on shift which may include;
- Maintaining a focus on ‘Big Picture’ issues Centre wide
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Centre’s Emergency Action Plan
- Working autonomously as well as being an active leader
You must have weekend availability to be considered for this role.
This is a part-time position and the hourly rate is $31.67 + super. The role may also be offered on a casual basis to the right candidate.
About You
As a Duty Manager you will act as positive role model in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities, as well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.
Essential Qualifications
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
- Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
