About the Centre

North Melbourne Recreation Centre is an aquatic and recreation centre located in North Melbourne, Victoria. The Centre run a variety of fitness and stadium programs throughout the year and our outdoor pools are open in summer.

North Melbourne Recreation Centre includes both the main building and the North Melbourne Pool down the street.

About the role 

The Aquatic Team Leader will be responsible for Aquatic Programs and ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards. They will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals.​ Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following;

  • Working autonomously; as well as being an active leader
  • Ensure designated programs and services are delivered in accordance with operating budgets
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure programs meet agreed standards

About you 

You will have strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of staff in a busy aquatic environment. You will be an outstanding communicator, with a customer focused approach; and a passion for Water Safety and Swimming Lessons.

Essential Qualifications   

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)

Other Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • ​​Aquatic Technical Operator Skill Set Certificate
  • Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
