We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the team at Queensland Hydro as we continue to strive for excellence in engineering, environmental and social outcomes developing pumped hydro assets that Queenslanders are proud to own.
About the role
Reporting to the Procurement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the principles of value for money, transparency and accountability are maintained across all procurement activities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating the end-to-end procurement processes in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders to optimise Qld Hydro’s contractual outcomes, set the foundation for great supplier relationships and the ability to manage risk. Additionally, you will:
- Identify, determine, and respond to internal stakeholder needs regarding procurement requests and customer enquiries.
- Lead end-to-end tender and procurement processes for activities allocated by the Procurement Leads including evaluating offers, contract negotiations, contract execution.
- Establish robust contracts to support best practice contract and supplier management
- Highlight risks and opportunities linked to supply status and changing demand.
- Document defensible procurement outcomes and activities.
- Recommend new processes or systems for improvement; implement new ideas and strategies.
About you
Your proven exposure as a Procurement Specialist in a large-scale project environment, major works procurement and contract management, and professional membership such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent will contribute to the position and project success.
- Experience leading end to end procurement activities.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and management.
- A high level of understanding of procurement frameworks
- A high level of understanding of probity and governance requirements aspects of procurement
- Specific demonstrated experience working within the Queensland Procurement Policy in corporate / project environments (desirable)
