Queensland Hydro is a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state’s energy system.

What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst who will be responsible for delivering advanced geospatial data management and analysis to support the organisation’s projects and operations. Reporting to the GIS Lead, this role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of geospatial data, while also providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams. Your key responsibilities will be:
- Technical capability in implementing, developing, and maintaining geospatial systems and procedures to ensure seamless management of project data.
- Working closely with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders to understand, document and solve their geospatial needs.
- Maintain the project's digital data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular reviews of GIS inputs from contractors to validate adherence to GIS management plans, governance, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Promote and facilitate collaboration between all project stakeholders, leveraging geospatial tools to enhance communication and information sharing.
- Support the GIS collaboration efforts among various designers, contractors and key stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment to optimise design coordination, reduce conflicts, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Who You Are
To be successful in this position, you will have a tertiary qualification in Spatial Sciences or a related field or significant work experience. Your exposure to geospatial technologies and proven experience on large infrastructure projects will contribute to your success. Additionally, you will have:
- Strong experience with Geographic Information Systems
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of GIS software, particularly Esri’s ArcGIS platform.
- Skilled in authoring, managing, and maintaining GIS policies and procedures in order to accurately manage geospatial data and it’s changing requirements.
