We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior Communications Advisor to join our team. This is an on-site position based in Invercargill. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will provide expert advice and support in the development and delivery of internal and external communications at PowerNet.
About You
Ideally you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have at least two years of experience in a communications and engagement role. Your strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills enable you to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible concepts. You will have a proven track record of leading and delivering communications and engagement plans, including collaborating with internal stakeholders through to measuring and reporting on success. A solid understanding of communications fundamentals, combined with practical experience, will allow you to confidently engage with senior colleagues and interact across all levels within the organisation. Experience in crisis communications and media relations experience is highly desirable, along with strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with digital tools and platforms like WordPress and social media is a bonus! A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, paired with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, will be essential to your success in this role.
