We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join the PowerNet Engineering - Networks team, based in Invercargill in a full-time position.

You will be responsible for assisting with the development of an Asset Management Plan and leading strategies for The Power Company Network in association with our teams to deliver safe, efficient and reliable power to our communities. Providing engineering support in the design and operation of our network equipment, you will be an integral part of PowerNet's Asset Management team. 

About you:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the electrical distribution industry
  • Excellent data analysis and report writing skills
  • Sound technical understanding of electrical protection systems, load flow and communications equipment
  • A great communicator with experience in asset planning, contract management and customer relations 
  • An enthusiastic team member with a desire for continuous improvement
  • An innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Motivated to make a difference
