About the role

The purpose of the GIS-Asset Data Technician role is to keep our electricity asset information accurate and up to date in our business data systems.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Master our systems: GIS and SAP will be your bread and butter – you’ll be drawing and inputting geospatial asset information into our business data systems.
  • Build relationships: Work with your team, the wider electricity teams and our teams in the field completing the work to help improve our team functions and the flow of information.
  • Join a culture strong team: Our customers and our people are at the centre of who we are. We’re proud of our work and we celebrate our success. Our Offices have an awesome feel, and everyone plays a part in making that happen.
  • Become network savvy: Gain knowledge of the Powerco Electricity Network and our areas of growth and change – it’s an exciting time to work in the Electricity supply industry!

 To be a success in this role, you will need:

  • To understand the importance of information upkeep and the role it plays in keeping our customers safe. 
  •  The ability to look at a document and see more than just lines on a page – you see the story and you see how our part fits into the bigger picture of keeping the lights on for our customers.
  • To be a team player that can get stuck into our team’s work, even if it gets quite repetitive. 
  • Ability to create relationships with people from all walks of life – team members, contractors, business partners 
  • To utilise your research and drawing skills, love to get stuck into work.

The ideal experience and skills:

  • Experience in a similar role (with ArcGIS or SAP)
  • ArcGIS knowledge essential
  • SAP knowledge beneficial
  • Strong communication, and problem solve skills.
  • A high level of initiative, professionalism, confidentiality, and tact
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in your work
