Information Systems Audit Specialist

Three-year fixed term; part-time 0.4 to 0.5 FTE 

New Plymouth, Wellington or Tauranga, with flexible working options available

About the role

Powerco’s Internal Audit team provides the Board and Management with independent, risk-based, and objective assurance, advice, insight, and foresight to strengthen Powerco’s ability to deliver its strategy and business plan. As the Information Systems Audit Specialist, you will lead the IT assurance and audit support for Powerco’s business assurance programme. You’ll look to investigate and facilitate improvements in our electronic data processing systems through data analysis and examinations. You’ll provide audit reports on the quality of IT controls and compliance obligations. You’ll also provide input into advisory business improvement projects.

To be a success in this role, you will need:

  • Highly developed skills and experience across a broad range of analysis areas, including financial and ERP systems such as SAP, payroll systems, risk management, and information security
  • Ability to engage and quickly establish and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strategic and big-picture thinking, always looking ahead
  • The ability to thrive and lead in uncertain, complex and ambiguous situations, agility and adaptability are key

Ideally, you will have:

  • Exposure to auditing
  • Experience in the use of audit automation tools and technologies (AI, RPA, Analytics)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ideally located in New Plymouth, Tauranga or Wellington, but we’d still be keen to talk if you resided elsewhere
