Asset Engineer – Power Assets

New Plymouth, Palmerston North or Tauranga

Here at Powerco, we're busy keeping the lights on and gas flowing to more than 430,000 homes, businesses and organisations across the North Island. If you're an experienced engineer looking for your next step, it's time to join the fast-paced, exciting company that powers NZ's largest electricity distribution network.

Right now, we're after an experienced Asset Engineer to take responsibility for our power assets within the Power Assets fleet team. The team has responsibility for managing our whole fleet of substation related plant such as switchgear and transformers as well as the sub-transmission and distribution underground network.

Preferably based in New Plymouth, but also open to Palmerston North and Tauranga, this is an opportunity for an engineering role with a large and successful company.

The role is an essential one for us, ensuring the effective performance, maintenance and timely renewal of a critical part of our asset fleet – sounds good?

You will provide effective asset management for Powerco’s power assets, ensuring that the fleet as a whole, and the individual assets perform in accordance with Powerco’s requirements over their full expected lives.

Let's talk about you. Your experience in the electricity distribution industry or in a similar asset management role will put you in good stead to hit the ground running with Powerco. You'll likely have a degree or NZCE in electrical engineering under your belt. You'll also have a keen eye for the details and will be no stranger to presenting a report or two, or leading failure investigations in the field, along with our field crews.

Life is good here at Powerco. You'll join a fun, tight-knit group of dedicated, passionate people and play an important role in a company that's a major contributor to the community. In addition to competitive salary offerings, generous leave allocations and health and wellness packages, you’ll also get the satisfaction of playing an important part in helping us deliver an essential service to our communities.

If you're after an engineer role within the New Zealand electrical industry, get in touch, and let's talk about how you can join us at Powerco.
