Startegic Vegetation Manager

New Plymouth preferred but open to other office locations for the right candidate

Do you have exceptional project delivery, engineering or contract management skills and are looking for a positive change in your career?    We have a newly created role for a Strategic Vegetation Manager which would suit a delivery focussed individual with an eye for the future who is able to develop and lead a progressive vegetation management strategy with a small team.    

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy & Risk Management: Develop and implement long-term vegetation management strategies that reduce risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal and external teams to integrate vegetation management into broader infrastructure planning.
  • Compliance & Policies: Establish policies to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with landowners, regulators, and community groups to support vegetation initiatives.
  • Data-Driven Solutions: Leverage technology tools like LiDAR and satellite imagery to monitor vegetation and drive innovation.
  • Budget & Contractor Management: Oversee budgets and contractors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

Will be proficient in strategic planning, project delivery and stakeholder management as well as:

  • A confident, self-motivated leader with a track record of being able to bring teams and stakeholders along on the journey;
  • Tech-savvy, with a strong focus on innovation and process improvement;
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator, able to “translate” the vision to others and balance multiple priorities;
  • Detail-oriented and committed to operational excellence.
