Maintenance Engineer

Tauranga, Wellington, Palmerston North or New Plymouth

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance/Electrical Engineer to lead our efforts in maintaining a reliable and efficient electricity network. Your key responsibilities will include optimizing and implementing strategies to balance asset risks and costs while ensuring safe and reliable operation of our assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize and implement strategies to balance asset risks and costs
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of our assets
  • Continually advance our maintenance standards
  • Maintain Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and risk registers to inform inspection and maintenance needs
  • Develop methodologies to prioritize corrective maintenance and manage backlog risk
  • Guide maintenance strategies using Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology
  • Implement initiatives like enhanced condition monitoring, pole top photography, and LiDAR acquisitions

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Engineering qualification with at least 5 years of experience
  • Deep understanding of electricity network equipment, maintenance, and design
  • Knowledge of failure modes and failure mode analysis
  • Project management background (preferred)
  • Experience with RCM maintenance strategy modelling and development
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis for fault investigations
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical information
  • Ability to contribute positively to a team and organisational culture
