Senior to Associate Civil Engineer

The Opportunity: 

  • Based in our Brisbane office you’ll be a key part of a national civil engineering design team.
  • Learn from and be mentored by seniors and principal engineers.
  • Design tasks involving access roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, services coordination, pavements, and interdisciplinary coordination across various market sectors.
  • Work on projects across energy, renewable energy, resources, civic and transport markets
  • Take on design tasks and packages yourself and help oversee and coordinate design work by others.
  • Communicate with our internal and external clients.
  • Work with a team of engineers, 12d civil designers and drafters.
  • Opportunity to support business development activities including pursuing work and writing proposals.
  • Opportunity for design management responsibilities for the right candidate.
  • Reporting to the National Civil Engineering Capability Lead, you will use your design skills to deliver great outcomes for our clients which include tier 1 contractors, resource and energy companies and state and local governments.

What you bring: 

  • Energetic, flexible and positive attitude.
  • QLD based experience with design and construction projects is preferred
  • You enjoy working in a team environment.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and a commitment to quality.
  • Proven design experience and proven design management experience, preferably including multidisciplinary work
  • Confidence to own design decisions and outcomes, including design sign-off.
  • Client contacts and industry connections in the QLD and Australian context is beneficial.
  • At least 7-10 years’ experience as a civil engineer in a design office environment.
  • Experience in general civil engineering design across energy, resources or similar market areas and general civil design work.
  • Sound design and report writing skills.
  • Sound experience and knowledge of Australian standards and state based standards.
  • Currently hold CPEng and/or RPEQ or eligible for it soon is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of 12d and AutoCAD is beneficial.
  • Experience with tier 1 and 2 contractor clients and project work is advantageous.
