The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Hobart. You will contribute to a variety of major infrastructure projects, as well as industrial and commercial developments; whilst providing technical guidance in a range of different structural materials for the junior members in the team. With offices around the country, there is opportunity for inter-office engagement throughout your tenure. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Become a technical focal point and provide technical guidance for the structural team in Hobart
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to solve intermediate to advanced engineering solutions
  • Liaise with clients and design technicians and other team members to deliver practical solutions
  • Manage clients, prepare fee proposals and tender documentations
  • Provide technical guidance to junior members of the team

What you bring:

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural design
  • In depth experience in structural engineering design and already obtained Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineering Status or equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering or higher;
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and a problem-solving mentality;
  • Willingness to contribute to technical guidance of junior members through mentoring and checking of technical documentation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both with colleagues and clients;
