The Opportunity: 

  • Join our Sustainable Futures team as a Community Engagement Consultant, working with a team passionate about delivering great outcomes for our communities and planet
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Consultant who enjoys being out in the field, engaging with communities
  • Provide community engagement services on various state-wide infrastructure projects based in Hobart
  • Engage with community stakeholders, and our clients including undertaking field-based engagement activities (eg. organising town-hall meetings, undertaking household visits etc)
  • Work collaboratively with our internal teams to develop tailored engagement strategies to support their clients

What you bring: 

  • 2-5 years of experience working in stakeholder engagement, community participation, communication, or similar roles
  • Experience in community stakeholder engagement methods and tools
  • Good understanding of community social risks and impacts in the context of infrastructure project design and implementation
  • Ability to communicate in person with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds 
  • Excellent people skills with advanced listening skills
  • Excellent ability to develop written materials for stakeholder engagement and write reports
  • Working understanding of digital community stakeholder engagement tools
  • Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office suite of products and using collaboration
  • Proven ability to strive in fast-paced, dynamic settings
  • Understanding of social mapping and assessment of communities
