Customer Service Engineer

My client is a leading supplier of analytical instrumentation and software for X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, and Sample Preparation Equipment. Product portfolio includes a broad range of XRD, XRF and SPE systems which are used for material characterization in scientific research and development, for industrial process control applications and for semiconductor metrology.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Customer Service Engineer who is self-directed and detail oriented to join their team based in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing installations, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex scientific and analytical instrumentation.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

-       Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Advanced Diploma and above

-       2-4 years of experience in customer support/technical support

-       XRF or XRD background

-       NSW Radiation Safety License

-       Experience in precision mechanics

-       Knowledge on applied physics or chemistry

-       Excellent customer-relationship skills/communication skills

-       Good technical hands-on skills and abilities to work with tools (toolkit)

-       Able and willing to travel, 50% - 60% of your time, across Australasia

-       Ability to solve problems

-       Ability to make sound decisions under stressful conditions

-       Politeness and diplomacy

-       Good organizational and planning skills

-       Great sense of initiative and ability to work with people at different hierarchical levels

-       Be able to work independently in the field and as part of a team

-       Passionate about customer service
