About the Role: Contracts Specialist

PHE is seeking a Contracts Specialist who thrives in a dynamic and rewarding work environment. This full-time position requires a proactive professional with exceptional attention to detail, a strong grasp of contractual and commercial principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and reviewing contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Negotiating terms and conditions, including payment schedules and delivery timelines
  • Monitoring compliance with contractual obligations, including safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Managing project costs and budgets, tracking against financial goals
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, such as liabilities, delays, and penalties
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of contracts, amendments, and compliance
  • Preparing reports on contract status and performance for management
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and legal teams to resolve contract-related issues

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in contract management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key qualifications include:

  • Proven Contract Administration & Managment experience with a strong level of judgment and discretion.
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) 
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Strong commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and a strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Can utilise high level verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills with suppliers, clients, and colleagues at varying levels within the organisation
  • Well-developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills to ensure punctual and comprehensive completion of tasks
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Word & Excel
  • Prior knowledge and understanding of the Construction and Mining industry would be highly desirable
  • Hold or willing to obtain Construction Induction White Card
