This role will be based at a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2 & 1 roster, 12-hour days.

Role Overview:

PHE Mining is seeking a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team on a fixed-term contract basis. This role involves analysing existing budgets, preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with contractors and vendors, and building relationships with key personnel on-site.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
  • Developing Weekly Reports and Quantity Manhour Reports.
  • Conducting Project MTO vs Budget estimate analysis.
  • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts for fiscal management.
  • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documentation.
  • Managing variations and change through effective change management.
  • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
  • Assisting with P6 schedule progress reporting.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or a related field.
  • Experience in construction estimating or cost controls or quantity surveying.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organise, plan, and strategise effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying, including:
  • Advanced Knowledge: Power BI, Excel
  • Intermediate Knowledge: P6 Primavera
