Lead High Voltage Protection Engineer
PHE HV and Switchboards is expanding, and we’re seeking an experienced and driven Lead High Voltage Protection Engineer to join our team in Brisbane or option of relocation. Your Role:
- Lead testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for HV protection systems, including relays, transformers, and switchgear.
- Design and implement relay settings, logic, and schemes for systems (e.g., ABB, GE Multilin, Schneider, Siemens).
- Perform advanced testing, including secondary injection, CT/VT testing, and fault-finding.
- Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
- Mentor and train engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical growth.
- Engage with clients, delivering solutions and clear, concise technical reports.
- Maintain strict adherence to HV safety standards and Australian regulations (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE).
What You’ll Bring:
- 7+ years in HV protection testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in tools like Omicron CMC356, PCM600, and relay software.
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver under pressure.
- Familiarity with IEC61850 protocols and GOOSE messaging is an advantage.
Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Trade Certification / AQF Cert Level 3 Electro Tech (highly regarded)
- Current CPR/LVR certification and unrestricted C Class Driver’s License.
