PHE HV and Switchboards is expanding, and we’re seeking an experienced and driven Lead High Voltage Protection Engineer to join our team in Brisbane or option of relocation. Your Role:

• Lead testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for HV protection systems, including relays, transformers, and switchgear.
• Design and implement relay settings, logic, and schemes for systems (e.g., ABB, GE Multilin, Schneider, Siemens).
• Perform advanced testing, including secondary injection, CT/VT testing, and fault-finding.
• Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
• Mentor and train engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical growth.
• Engage with clients, delivering solutions and clear, concise technical reports.
• Maintain strict adherence to HV safety standards and Australian regulations (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE).

What You’ll Bring:

• 7+ years in HV protection testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in tools like Omicron CMC356, PCM600, and relay software.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver under pressure.
• Familiarity with IEC61850 protocols and GOOSE messaging is an advantage.

Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Trade Certification / AQF Cert Level 3 Electro Tech (highly regarded)
• Current CPR/LVR certification and unrestricted C Class Driver’s License.
