PHE currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join our team in our newly renovated Fortitude Valley office.

It is an exciting time to join as PHE has 50 years of experience and provides electrical and instrumentation operations support services to clients throughout Australia including mining, hydropower generation, remote gas power generation plants, food and beverage, pulp and paper manufacturing, and timber processing industries and is known for the excellent care we take with clients and employees alike.

We are a growing Industrial Electrical Contracting company with projects and branch locations in NSW, QLD, SA and WA that offers its employees a safe, efficient and rewarding work environment that promotes personal and professional growth.

This is a full-time Graduate Accountant role where you will need to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

In this role you will:

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly general journal postings: depreciation, accruals, prepayments
  • Post inter-company debtor/creditor settlements and loan reconciliations
  • Reconcile plant and equipment leases
  • Maintaining Trust ledgers, bank reconciliations and trial balances (excel and Xero)
  • Assisting Group Accountant with monthly reporting and year end processes
  • Reconcile Wages and superannuation
  • Assist with Adhoc projects
  • Liase with Administration team across the business

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

  • Good understanding of Excel & Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowlege of Xero and MYOB EXO is preferred, but not essential
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and part of a team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualification in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Be able to pass a National Police Check
