A P&G Laboratory Technician will be responsible for:

  • Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.
  • Optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.
  • Responsible for handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory manager
  • Receive, label and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.
  • Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings
  • Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods
  • Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment

Must haves:

  • Person to prep samples for MicroCT Lab, weigh samples, place in carousel/conveyor and check status of acquisition/analysis.
  • The individual will also interact with the instrument’s GUI to setup samples, verify scan regions and initiate sample acquisition
  • This person will spend their time in the MicroCT and/or Surface Science labs.
  • There will be office space within the lab to setup a laptop and monitor.
  • He/She will be using basic tools like punches and scalpels to prep samples and will have to become familiar with our project tracking system, our image acquisition system and our analysis methods.
  • This person has to be comfortable with detailed prep work and have good communication skills and general computer useage skills (Outlook/Teams/Powerpoint/Excel)
