We're on the lookout for a Information Governance Specialist to join our growing team at Perth Airport. This role will be the core of our evolving data and analytics ecosystem. You will lead our Information Governance Program, ensuring that our information assets are managed securely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to enhance awareness, implement governance frameworks, and drive continuous improvement in information management.
About the Role
- Develop and implement information governance policies, procedures, and standards to support organisational goals.
- Ensure compliance with data retention, privacy, and security regulations while mitigating governance-related risks.
- Collaborate with Technology, Legal, and other business units to maintain robust data security and privacy measures.
- Lead the Perth Airport Information Governance Program, enhancing data quality and optimising the use of information assets.
- Implement and manage classification, storage, and disposal processes for information assets.
- Support stakeholders and information custodians in fulfilling their governance responsibilities through training and guidance.
- Conduct data mapping exercises and maintain information asset registers to improve accessibility and control.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by assessing and refining governance frameworks based on evolving business needs.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four years' experience in information governance, data management, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of privacy laws, data security, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy development, risk assessment, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience optimising governance processes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
