The main purpose for the MP Support Coordinator position is to support the community engagement between the Christchurch East Electorate constituents and Reuben Davidson MP. Listed below are the core responsibilities.
Based in the Christchurch East electorate office and 20 hours per week, you’ll be working to support the very machinery of Aotearoa New Zealand’s democracy.

Your previous experiences in providing administrative support and customer engagement will be nothing short of excellent. You will be comfortable dealing with people and be close to the issues facing the community and be able to do this while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. Often, you’ll be the first point of contact, be highly organised and love working within a collaborative team.
Ngā haepapa | Responsibilities:
- Assist with community engagement and constituent services for a member of Parliament.
- Monitor local forums, newsletters, community Facebook pages where required, and maintain established information databases relating to work and contacts made in the community
- Help provide information and advice to constituents on parliamentary processes and services
- Maintain established databases and files relating to constituent issues
- Raise common constituent issues and escalate complex cases where agreed with the team manager and/or Member.

The pay band for the role starts at $67,600 per annum (pro-rated) and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events based’ agreement, with your employment linked to the MP. This role is based in the Christchurch East electorate office, for 20 hours per week,
