Paradigm Engineers is a highly regarded Electrical and Control Systems Engineering consultancy serving projects Australia-wide from our office in Perth. We specialise in providing electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and project management services to the mining, mineral processing, and infrastructure industries. Our current projects include design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation services for brownfield and greenfield mining, materials handling, mineral processing, and port facilities across multiple commodities, including iron ore, salt, gold, coal, and nickel.

About the opportunity

Due to our continued growth and exciting project wins, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team in Perth. The role involves managing client relationships, contracts, and projects for assigned clients, as well as engaging in business development activities.

Our current projects include design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation for brownfield and greenfield mining, materials handling, mineral processing and port facilities across multiple commodities including iron ore, gold, salt, coal and nickel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing assigned projects by coordinating project timelines, deliverables, and resources to meet client expectations and project deadlines.
  • Preparing project schedules, project execution plans, and project quality plans, ensuring seamless project delivery and adherence to client requirements.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, fostering strong relationships built on trust and reliability.
  • Understanding client needs, objectives, and challenges, and collaborating with internal teams to develop tailored solutions.
  • Proactively anticipating client needs and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
  • Conducting and attending regular client meetings, presentations, and site visits to maintain engagement and gather feedback.
  • Developing, maintaining, and reporting on Agreement KPIs, including organizing specific activities such as graduate programs and employee engagement workshops required by the Agreements.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within existing accounts and target markets, and collaborating with the sales/project/engineering teams to prepare proposals.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures related to Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ), and promoting zero harm and environmental sustainability in all projects.
  • Providing training, coaching, and mentoring to co-workers while maintaining accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and project status using CRM software.

Our ideal candidates would have some or all the following:

  • An Engineering degree or similar tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience in project / account management preferably for control system or electrical engineering projects
  • Experience in Australian mining projects / operations
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles and design processes
  • Attention to detail and proven experience in preparing professional client documentation, including the preparation of tenders and proposals
  • A commercial focus with strong negotiation / communication skills and judgement with a good working knowledge of contracts and the tender process
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Project Management / Enterprise software and Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable additional skills/experience:

  • Over 10 years of experience in a project manager role
  • Control systems and/or electrical design experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the WA iron industry with Tier 1 clients
