Service Delivery Superintendent!

  • North Sydney location - Permanent role
  • Monday to Friday position
  • Help design, Lead and implement the Service Delivery strategy within our Bulk business!

About the role

Leading the co-ordination of our rail services in real time within our bulk business unit, this role requires a highly energised individual who can ensure the vision and strategy as well as day to day operational management is set for success and aligned to our set strategy.

In this position you will lead the on-shift team responsible for implementing train services and variation management on the day of operations. Our planning team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and you will play a key role in leading the coordination and delivery of services, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

 In addition, the Superintendent Service Delivery responsibilities include however are not limited to:

  • Coaching and developing team members!
  • Manage the development in implementation of innovative planning solutions by working with stakeholders, the planning team and customer service teams.
  • Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, and cohesive team effort.
  • Responsible for identifying and addressing service plan conflicts, constraints, efficiency & effectiveness opportunities while on shift
  • Manage incident reporting and customer monitoring activities
  • Accountable for implementing PN’s disruption management process on shift to minimise the impact on the business, customers, and network
  • Create, Develop and Implement the long-term strategy and objectives for the Service Delivery Team.
  • Responsible for labour management on shift including safe and effective allocation of resources aligned to the service delivery plan

About you

You will have exposure working within a fast pace, dynamic environment ideally within logistics, heavy industry, or network operations. You will have well-honed skills in critical thinking with the ability to review, analyse and implement service plans. An agile mindset is required allowing you to set up long term strategies but also quickly change scope and work through recovery scenarios. You will have experience leading large and successful teams and enjoy mentoring and developing your team. 

In addition, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant business discipline or relevant experience.
  • Training or qualification in Frontline Management or similar.
  • Experience in rail or other heavy transport industries, including specialist or technical knowledge of transport, logistics planning and operations
  • Experience managing large teams in complex environment
  • Experiences setting the strategy and deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience in asset management planning, scheduling or similar.
  • Experience in developing talent within own team to deliver business outcomes.
