About the Role

As a Labour Deployment Specialist (Operations Scheduler), you'll ensure the right labour resources are in place to deliver outstanding service for our clients, in line with agreed plans and contracts. You’ll manage current staffing while planning ahead, driving continuous improvement, supporting system upgrades, and fostering a high-performing, positive team culture.

This position operates on a rotating relief roster, provided 9 days before each 28-day cycle

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of Enterprise Agreements and flexible labour contracts.
  • Offer specialized support for labour decisions within the live operational environment.
  • Implement crew programs, manage daily roster variations, and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate data to align rosters with leave and training needs.
  • Ensure timely information flow to exceed customer expectations. 

About You

  • Proven expertise in interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong familiarity with local geographies and network specifics.
  • Solid background in service delivery and customer-focused operations.
  • Experience in labour and asset planning, ideally within rail or heavy industry.
  • Proficiency in risk management, safety compliance, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently under tight deadlines, with sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
