About the role
In this position you will have key accountability for managing the supply chain and warehousing of all rollingstock inventory for Pacific National’s Bulk, Intermodal and Coal facilities nationally.
In addition to supporting the National Inventory and Supply Contracts Superintendent you will become an integral member of the supply operations team. You will be responsible for safely ensuring sufficient inventory is stocked, distributed, and accounted for to support maintenance activities across Pacific National.
This opportunity is based in Regency Park (Adelaide) working on a 6-month fulltime Fixed Term contract, with the potential to extend. Some travel will be required in this position!
Key responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Safely pack, handle, and arrange transport for all inward and outgoing freight to/from the warehouse, sites, vendors ensuring all required purchase orders and documentation are completed
- Ensure goods received are visually inspected, checked against purchase orders and delivery dockets, with discrepancies recorded and pursued immediately
- Ensure the warehouse(s) is safe, clean, functional and parts are located correctly
- Create and maintain purchase orders for inventory via Maximo
- Liaise with maintenance personnel ensuring inventory availability for maintenance activities
- Participate and conduct Bi-Annual and Cyclic stocktakes
- Ensure all procurement and warehouse activities are conducted in accordance with the PN (Pacific National) procurement policy, PN safety policies and standards.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong safety background and:
- A current forklift operator’s license
- A current C-Class driver’s license
- Proven experience in materials handling, warehousing, and procurement
- Sound knowledge and application of supply, procurement, and inventory management processes
- Experience and knowledge in various software applications utilised within a warehousing and maintenance environment – Maximo experience will be highly regarded
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritise competing priorities
- Team player
- Self-starter
