Pacific National (PN) is the largest provider of diversified rail freight services in Australia. We’re powering Australia’s supply chain with safe, efficient and innovative rail freight solutions. We operate nationally with approximately 3,500 staff in over 90+ sites across Australia and haul a variety of freight including intermodal containers, steel, coal, and a range of bulk commodities and materials.

About the Role

An outstanding opportunity to get your foot in the door working for an industry leader within the rail industry. Get trained by the very best and give yourself the opportunity to build a long secure career in any direction you wish such as becoming a Locomotive Driver or operational leadership. 

As a Terminal Operator, you are responsible for marshalling and preparing trains for departure and performing safe shunting duties in the yard.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will be a team player who thinks ahead and enjoys a challenge. This is a role that requires a responsible and accountable individual who will efficiently and safely undertake all required tasks.

In addition, you will have:

  • Full Driver's licence
  • Heavy forklift licence
  • General computer proficiency is required
  • Experience in train inspection, ground shunt and track side safety highly regarded
  • Shunt driver qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in logistics, transport or the rail industry is preferred
  • A willingness to learn and undertake new competencies when required.
  • General computer proficiency is required
  • Excellent communication skills
