About the Role
Reporting into the Regional Manager, you will be accountable for leading, coordinating and managing operational activities by initiating and implementing medium to long term operational processes, plans and systems which result in a planned, controlled, proactive approach to our operations requirements. In addition, you will lead the Trainers and oversee training activities in the region
In this role you will concentrate on bringing a commercially focused approach to enable Depot led teams to ‘Safely deliver the customer service plan’, while meeting key business objectivities!
Accountabilities include however are not limited to:
- Provide oversight, advice and guidance for operations in a way which ensures that the agreed standard of safety, revenue, earnings, customer service and operational performance targets are achieved, accurately measured and reported on, in line with overall business objectives.
- Identify, develop and implement, productivity, safety and cost improvement opportunities for the utilisation of Pacific National assets in order to optimise return on investment whilst continuing to deliver high quality customer service.
- DSP or equivalent driver compliance management.
- Oversight of Train Crew Development (Train Crew Development Specialist) training plans/roster and supporting the Regional Manager manage Depot Supervisor Rosters and resources.
- Manage the day-to-day customer interactions and relationships, ensuring regular updates are provided as agreed between parties.
- Demonstrate clear, effective leadership in all aspects of safety by proactively communicating and enforcing safety values resulting in increased hazard/risk awareness, personal accountability and preventative behaviours throughout the workforce.
- Management and coordination of WH&S and WIF (ERC) committees.
- Manage incident investigations ensuring they are completed in a timely manner, root causes are identified and implemented in a timely manner.
- Manage Trainee programs and New Starters to ensure plans are executed efficiently, effectively and in a structured manner.
About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a business, logistics or management stream.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing successful teams.
- Confidence in relationship building and possess the personality to influence others to provide information and to make things happen in the fact of resistance or lack of knowledge.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally.
- Well-developed capability to operate at a senior level, engaging and influencing with their peers.
- Qualifications in logistics, supply chain or process improvement management disciplines is desirable.
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management, qualifications in leadership or equivalent is desirable.
