About the role
This role supports Oscar Wylee (www.oscarwylee.com.au), a multinational optical eyewear retailer and health care service provider based in Sydney, Australia. You will report directly to its Sydney-based Finance Director. The core responsibilities include:
- Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop financial models to assess business opportunities and risks.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and governance standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to align financial strategies with business goals.
- Support cross-functional teams with financial expertise.
This is currently a standalone position. However, it is expected that this person will be involved in building accounting teams and developing skills of less experienced accountants.
About the person
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Fully qualified in accountancy (e.g., ICASL, ACCA, or CIMA).
- At least 3–4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced computer skills particularly MS Excel skills.
- Experience with Australian companies is preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership skills, detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
