The ORS Speech Pathology team in Newcastle is expanding and we are seeking a Team Leader for Speech Pathology services at our Broadmeadow site! The Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast team currently consists of 10 Speech Pathologists who are supporting NDIS participants with complex communication, swallowing needs and/or complex behaviours. You will join a national team of 50+ Speech Pathologists in our NDIS division providing clinical services to participants aged 0-65 working across early intervention, school age, adolescent and adult services with clients who have various presentations, diagnoses, and disability types. This role will have a clinical focus and support our wonderful staff at our Broadmeadow site. There is room for ongoing growth and opportunities of the Broadmeadow team.


You will work across various environments, including family homes, disability group homes, day programs, schools, preschools, community settings, telehealth, and ORS offices.


Our department ensures all staff are supervised by a Speech Pathologist, have access to strong and varied internal professional development opportunities (Special Interest Groups, Monthly Discipline Specific In-services, and Multi-Disciplinary In-services) and the opportunity for clinical specialisation.


You will benefit from multiple layers of speech pathologists in your leadership team – Team Leader, Regional Manager, State Manager, and General Manager. We are a department built, managed, and developed on the knowledge and experience of speech pathologists who have been invested in our profession for over 20 years. We bring skills from all the areas of speech pathology practice (health, aged care, disability, school, universities, private practice, and rehabilitation) to take the best and build quality services for our clients and career progression options for our staff.


Options to expand your skills in Early Childhood Services, Positive Behaviour Support Services, dysphagia management, student placements can be discussed.

Role requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Registration with SPA
  • Previous experience as a Speech Pathologist working with NDIS participants in a clinical or community setting (preferred)
  • A car and licence
  • A National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or able to acquire one for client facing roles (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
