OneDigital supports Hybrid working – which means a mix of working remote and in our 699 Collins Street Offices.

The Data team at OnePass designs, builds and runs key capabilities accelerating the data strategy for OnePass at OneDigital. The team is responsible for establishing data platform capability, to be adopted by other internal teams, supporting the creation of data products, solving a range of business needs.

We embed progressive data management standards and engineering best practices into platform capabilities, resulting in reliable, efficient, governed and scalable handling of data. The team is composed of data engineering and analytics engineering professionals and we are on the lookout for individuals passionate about transforming data into valuable and loved data products.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will contribute to designing and delivering our data assets and tooling for our stakeholders across the various business units in a scalable, secure, and governed manner. You will guide and influence the analytics engineering community and analytics engineering ecosystem that (a) guides data professionals (e.g. data engineers and data analysts) to build well tested, up to date and documented datasets and (b) accelerates us towards our vision of federated domain owned data and a self-service ecosystem team members can use to answer their own questions.

Key duties and deliverables:

  • Build and contribute to data and analytics engineering communities
  • Curate data products, mostly in Snowflake, that support analytics and reporting, self-service data exploration and emerging data science use cases
  • Contribute to data product roadmaps as well as the data platform roadmap
  • Involvement in the data architecture and contributing to the evolution of data design standards, guidelines, frameworks, and practices – including modelling, metadata and testing standards.
  • Improving the analytics engineering experience and encourage involvement and toolset adoption by the wider Data and Technology areas
  • Establish and implement engineering principles and practices such as version management, documentation, testing and CI/CD to enable both quality and speed
  • Drive a culture of engagement and continual improvement
  • Contribute to the data platform product roadmap
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Raise the data literacy across the stakeholder groups and ensure that people feel empowered to leverage data as a strategic tool for their function
  • Collaborate with internal data and analytics community to strive for greater functionality in the Digital Ecosystem’s data systems

What you will need to be successful:

  • Expertise in data modelling as well as data transformation frameworks (we love dbt!) and SQL
  • Passion for building and managing data products within large cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake)
  • Familiarity with a wide set of data warehouse architectures and methodologies, schemas, and performance / optimization principles
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to anticipate issues, challenges, and opportunities and manage them accordingly
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic teams and collaborate with others
  • Experience working within agile and lean methodologies
