Youth Tutor

About the role: 

We are on the lookout for a Youth Tutor to join us in January 2025 to deliver our Foundations Skills (Level 2) course!

Based in our Auckland Central campus, the Youth Tutor will ensure that each student is provided with an optimal total learning experience – where they are welcomed into the campus and treated with cultural understanding and respect. You will also provide quality teaching and learning support, guidance and help and assist the students in their transition to higher education and ultimately employment. 

The Youth Tutor will deliver the Foundation Skills course to provide support to the students within and outside of the classroom to help our youth succeed and transition into adult learning. The Youth tutor will successfully embed Literacy, Language and Numeracy (LLN) principles into the learning context and build the student's functional skills to support retention and successful outcomes. 

About you: 

• Strong background working and engaging with youth
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to excite and install passion through your teaching 
• Experience teaching youth or adult learners in a tertiary/relevant education environment (preferred but not essential)
• Enthusiasm and positive attitude towards empowering youth to find success in their futures

We are ideally looking for someone who has previous experience working with youth in alternative education or youth development sectors and who are aware of the unique challenges youth bring.

If you have good experience working with youth and are passionate about for making a positive impact on the lives of the future generation but not necessarily teaching experience, we'd still love to hear from you!
