About the role:
As a Pharmacy Technician Tutor, you will be part of our team delivering the Pharmacy Technician programme. In this role, you will pass on the knowledge you have gained through your extensive pharmacy experience with an emphasis on community pharmacy and an understanding of the skill set required of a Pharmacy Technician.
Your knowledge base will also include anatomy and physiology, a range of dispensing techniques including calculations, compliance packaging and compounding, OTC, pharmacy legislation, and clinical professionalism.
This will be a permanent part-time role, working 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (flexible)) at our Auckland Central campus.
About you:
You will need to be a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist, or have a NZ Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (Specialist) L6, or NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician L5, with a passion for Pharmacy Education and educating future pharmacy technicians in this industry.
In addition, you will need:
- Sound pharmacology knowledge
- Prior experience managing placements and various stakeholder relationships
- Strong ability to manage pharmacy resources and maintain a mock pharmacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to practice patience & try out new things
- Connect and build relationships with all your students from all walks of life
- Passionate and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and fostering success
- Most importantly, maintain a positive & enthusiastic attitude
- Teaching experience advantageous but not a requirement
You don’t need any experience in teaching as we will provide you with comprehensive training and support you with teaching tools to become successful in your tutor role.
