We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer / GitLab Migration Specialist to oversee a critical migration from Jira to GitLab and optimise integrations with various platforms. You'll combine technical expertise, critical thinking, and leadership skills to create a future-proof DevOps ecosystem, bringing modern tools and innovative practices to life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Spearhead the end-to-end migration from Jira to GitLab, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency
  • Establish and optimise CI/CD pipelines for code quality, security, and process automation.
  • Streamline build and release processes to enhance developer productivity.
  • Lead and mentor a small team, ensuring clear communication and effective task delegation.
  • Provide ongoing support and innovative improvements after the migration.

MUST HAVE Skills and Experience for candidates to be considered for the role

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing modern CI/CD pipelines, with a strong focus on GitLab.
  • 3+ years of expertise in Docker and VMware vCenter for containerisation and virtualisation.
  • 3+ years of experience with YAML configurations for orchestration and automation
  • Proficient in Python, Bash scripting, and PowerShell to develop and enhance functionalities.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL for managing relational databases, or experience with MySQL.
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure environments.
  • Full working rights—Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is mandatory.

Nice to Have

Experience with Salesforce, Kubernetes, and Jira is highly advantageous.
