Key Responsibilities:
- System Monitoring: Continuously monitor mainframe computer systems to ensure optimal performance and identify any anomalies.
- Job Scheduling: Schedule and execute batch jobs, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform regular backups and manage data recovery processes to safeguard against data loss.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Tape Management: Oversee tape libraries used for data storage and backups.
- Console Operations: Interpret console messages and take appropriate actions based on system alerts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with system programmers and production control staff to maintain system health and performance.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- At least 4 years’ experience with scheduling software, reporting, and logging.
- Proficiency with Mainframe Operating System.
- Must be a local Australian citizen capable of obtaining Baseline Security Clearance.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related courses.
- Relevant experience with troubleshooting, backup/recovery, and basic networking.
