Security Clearance Required for this role:

• This will be an Office based role in Canberra or Melbourne.

We’re seeking skilled IBM DataPower Engineers to lead the upgrade and migration of key IBM infrastructure to cutting-edge virtual environments.

As an IBM DataPower Engineer, you will:

• Upgrade IBM DataPower Gateway appliances to virtualized environments, ensuring operational readiness and cybersecurity compliance.
• Replace legacy systems with the latest versions of IBM WebSphere MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), and IBM Security solutions (ISAM, ISDS).
• Perform data migrations, firewall updates, and system reconfigurations while minimizing service disruptions.
• Collaborate with Defence stakeholders to conduct rigorous testing, validation, and performance optimization.
• Ensure all upgrades align with Defence’s zero-trust principles and security frameworks.

Experience and Skills required:

• Proven expertise in IBM DataPower Gateway, WebSphere MQ, IIB, and ACE systems.
• Experience in virtualizing physical infrastructure and deploying IBM virtual appliances.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Proficiency in managing firewall configurations and secure data flows.
• Exceptional skills in system testing, risk management, and real-time monitoring.
• Familiarity with Defence security standards and frameworks is highly desirable.
