Join a Mainframe Db2 System Administration team and take charge of the backbone of our clients database infrastructure.

This role involves configuring, monitoring, optimizing, and securing our Db2 systems, while also playing a key role in disaster recovery and database health checks.

You’ll work closely with various teams, supporting end users and providing your expertise on best practices, troubleshooting, and process improvement. Additionally, you'll help develop automation solutions to reduce manual errors, improve efficiency, and create seamless workflows.

You'll be responsible for architecting, managing, and maintaining Db2 application databases to ensure optimal performance and security.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and optimize Db2 for z/OS V12 databases.
• Collaborate on disaster recovery planning, backup processes, and periodic health checks.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, overseeing database user authorizations.
• Support database housekeeping tasks (Reorg, Runstats, Load, Unload, etc.) using both IBM Db2 tools and 3rd party utilities (e.g., Platinum, BMC, OmegaMon).
• Provide capacity planning, growth projections, and recommendations for resource scaling.
• Offer Db2 subject matter expertise, advising on best practices, product features, and technical issues.
• Lead automation efforts for repetitive tasks, reducing risks and improving system reliability.
• Work alongside the Capacity Planning team and other internal departments to ensure system scalability.

What You will Bring:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Db2 for z/OS V12 and higher, including knowledge of Db2 Access Paths, JCL, ISPF utilities, and basic REXX coding.
• Familiarity with 3rd party tools like Platinum RC*Query, BMC, OmegaMon, and Db2 Performance tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016, VMware ESXi, and cloud migration.
• Knowledge of automation in IaaS environments and vulnerability management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field.
