As an experienced Mainframe Adabas Software Developer you will be passionate about developing, optimising, and modernising mission-critical mainframe applications while integrating them with modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Development: Design, code, test, and debug applications using Natural and Adabas, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Database Management: Optimize Adabas databases to ensure maximum efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Legacy Modernization: Lead efforts in modernizing legacy systems and integrating them with contemporary platforms such as APIs, cloud services, and DevOps practices.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe systems with modern technologies.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyse and tune application performance, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for systems and applications.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with teams across departments to define requirements, guide technical strategy, and deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-5 years of hands-on experience with Adabas and Natural in a mainframe environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Natural programming, Adabas database management, and Job Control Language (JCL).
  • Modernization Expertise: Experience with DevOps, system modernization, and integrating legacy systems with modern technologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tools: Experience with NaturalOne IDE and Eclipse-based development environments.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines will be an advantage.
  • Mainframe Support: Proficiency in DBDC subsystem programming and providing mainframe operating system support.
  • Leadership & Guidance: Ability to lead projects and offer technical guidance on complex issues.
