This newly developed role within our Legal team sits across all Nissan Oceania entities, including the Australian and New Zealand motor companies, Finance Companies, and the Australian manufacturing plant.
Your opportunity
- Enhance and oversee Nissan Oceania’s Privacy Management Framework, ensuring systematic documentation of privacy goals, roles, and timelines in compliance with Australian and New Zealand privacy laws.
- Safeguard personal information by conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), identifying, assessing, and mitigating privacy risks across the organization.
- Lead the response to privacy breaches and data security incidents, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive privacy policies and frameworks. Regularly review and update privacy policies, conducting audits and compliance reviews with key stakeholders.
- Conduct tailored privacy training and establish Privacy Champions across the organisation. Ensure privacy-by-design principles are embedded in business processes by partnering with stakeholders in Sales & Marketing, Brand & Communications, Procurement, IT, and HR.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting data and privacy practices, providing timely advice on their impact. Ensure adherence to evolving privacy laws and industry best practices.
You will bring
- Eligibility to hold a legal practising certificate in Victoria.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or equivalent certification is highly regarded.
- Significant experience in privacy, data protection, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and implementing privacy frameworks and policies.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver tailored privacy training and raise privacy awareness within the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a solution-focused approach to addressing privacy challenges.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders and delivering presentations to influence decision-making.
