Title: Materials Development 1

Location: Beaverton, OR / Hybrid

Duration: 2 year contract

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for detail oriented multi-tasker with effective communication skills and a basic knowledge of textiles and data management. You will be an important member of our palette management and development team who will support manage and consolidate apparel palette and manage effectiveness within material studio. You will gain knowledge of apparel material development, product creation and data analysis. You have a passionate drive to improve system and process, to collaborate with others and positively impact the teams you work with!

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will be the main point of contact to advise on material test methods and drive integrity of test data and accuracy of the information in our PCX system. This individual will communicate with domestic and international partners to order materials, problem solve material testing issues and ensure each development stays on track to meet deadlines. You will pull materials and manage material samples within library to support consolidation project. You will pull material data and perform data analysis to understand palette usage and identify opportunity for consolidation.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This is the Nike matrix: You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support our partners within Apparel including key collaborations with GLAM Development, GLAM Ops, Product Design, Product Merchandising, Technical Development, Sourcing and Manufacturing. You will need to work effectively within the materials team to ensure optimal palette development and management to drive efficiency for NIKE.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Textiles or relevant combination of education and experience
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Effective organization skills to manage physical palette material and data files
  • Understanding of the application of color on materials
  • Knowledge of apparel and material construction, including garment construction
  • Effective organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Effective information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group
  • Ability to network and apply internal and external resources
  • Self-starter attitude and the ability to be a great teammate within a fast paced team
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Adobe Illustrator
  • 5-10% travel required
  • Knowledge of product creation process and the apparel business
  • Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
