WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are currently looking for a Lead Production Artist , to support the Catalyst Apparel Design Team. The Catalyst Team works on highly visible product across external collaborations at Nike spanning a wide range of designers, artists, and entertainers.

This role requires someone who has a keen eye for detail, is organized and can work in a fast-paced environment working alongside the creative apparel design team. 

  • Create and maintain 100% accurate apparel CAD line art along with creating detail sketches for apparel design construction.
  • CLO / Pattern cutting skills.
  • Create and maintain material & trim shopping lists with accurate content including supplier information.
  • Create tech packs with designers to ensure design vision execution.
  • Correspond with factory developers to update tech packs and shopping lists.
  • Work with product management teams to send packages to external partners.
  • Create and maintain templates for presentations, swatch and material trims, and assist with presentation/meeting tools as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

The Lead Production Artist will support the Apparel Designers to create and finalize garment details across many seasonal collections. This role will require a strong eye with precision for all garments and accessories in a collection. This role will span multiple seasons and collections, therefore looking for someone advanced in time management. A typical day could include many cross functional discussions, pattern cutting, tech pack creations and handoffs, as well as maintaining the tools that bring product to life.

WHO WILL WORK WITH:

You will be working with multiple teams: design, development, and operations to help support seasonal apparel product creation. This opportunity will require independent and strong collaborative skills to communicate with your teams and meet project deadlines across multiple seasons and projects. 

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 5+ years of technical design or development experience in an agency, in-house setting, or closely related role in product creation.
  • Passion and understanding of current and emerging design trends, as well as visual culture.
  • Ability to adapt to change and balance multiple, contending priorities in a time sensitive environment.
  • Professional visual and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively present design intent to internal and external audience.
  • Knowledge of apparel product creation and basic garment construction preferred.
  • Proficient in CLO, pattern cutting, Adobe CC, specifically Illustrator, and comfortable working within new digital spaces.
  • Ability to embrace diverse points of view while encouraging an environment of inclusivity.
