As Nike accelerates and operationalizes its One Technology Roadmap; it has become apparent there is a need for a team and structure that will be responsible for building high-quality enterprise products and platforms at scale. Technology Product Management will play an integral part of the Global Technology team as we move into a technology-led strategy for Nike, with the Domain Technology Product Manager being an essential component of that team. This function has a deep understanding of how to bring the best of Global Tech together, including a deep understanding of how to leverage platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Leads product or medium to high complexity and scale and delivery of relevant features.
- Proposes enhancements and accountable for execution, measurement of outcomes, and continuous improvement.
- Actively grooms the backlog and works in agile methodology in product team.
- Collaborate with, interpret and act as the voice of the customer for product team and bring the team to the customer whenever possible.
- Works directly with users, UX design as needed, other product managers & leaders, stakeholders, and the product team to define product needs, outcomes, and metrics (product KPIs) applying user centric design principles.
- Ensures the product team has the full context and understanding of customers and business environment to create valuable solutions.
- Works with team to ensure all stories are supported, clear, and delivered in high quality.
- Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the users of the product/platform and applies this in developing proposals and in executing changes.
- Contribute to the Product/Platform Strategy & roadmap, highlighting/owning risks and dependencies.
- Ensure the readiness of the work (accept or reject work results) and that the work is aligned to the Roadmap.
- Own, maintain and prioritize product/platform backlog; facilitate feature & user story mapping, break features into stories (functional and non-functional), define acceptance criteria, ensure capacity for enablers and defects.
- Prioritize and make trade-offs based on understanding of strategies, budget, epics, enabler requirements, defects, dependent teams, goals and the value features and stories bring to customers and the business.
- Assist in removing roadblocks for the product/platform team.
- Understand how features are performing, the level of customer satisfaction, and provide suggestions for improvements.
- Provides input to the resource needs and plans for the product/platform.
- Works with a significant degree of autonomy, seeking support and guidance only on an exception basis.
Skills
You should be skilled in product management, analytics, a structured and data-driven thinker, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience designing creative, quality technical products and enabling business capabilities and objectives through technology will be critical. You should be comfortable conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, and analytics. Additionally, you should be a skilled communicator with experience forming alliances and bringing together multiple stakeholders to execute on a common mission.
Skills required include:
- Expertise in both the business/need their product or platform serves, as well as the technology and operational landscape.
- Important to have AHA and JIRA knowledge and expertise.
- Relentless in understanding customer needs / requirements and synthesizing insight through evaluating data, analytics, and user input.
- Strategic in setting prioritization of the roadmap while being pragmatic in delivering incremental and continuous value (north star in mind while driving continuous value).
- Adept at collaborating with and empowering engineering and UX design to enable the right solution for user problems & platform strategy.
- Ruthless in defining, tracking, and measuring adoption and value. Accountable to the business outcomes (value) over output.
- Inquisitive, aware, and maintains knowledge of current industry trends and innovations.
- Leadership and influence ability across functions and with senior stakeholders to align strategy, roadmap and priorities for product/platform.
Additional Preferences are:
- Prior experience in Technical Product Management and owning a product/platform of small to medium complexity and scale and has consistently delivered end to end results that have added significant value to the business.
- Has successfully developed and implemented a system/ product/service/feature/ for a customer, evaluated its performance, and proposed and executed approaches to continually improve it.
- Has successfully analyzed the outcome of a landscape change, feature or improvement and developed actionable recommendations.
- Experience adapting roadmaps and resourcing plans due to unanticipated challenges to ensure delivery of results.
- Experience making product proposals with challenging tradeoffs.
- Skilled at clear and concise communications with stakeholders and users.
- Develops collaborative relationships with technical and creative colleagues and displays strong team behaviors.
- Expertise in relevant development tools & technology, with the ability to apply that knowledge independently in their work.
- Has a broad understanding of various software development approaches, including waterfall, agile, scrum, Kanban.
Education
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Business Administration, or Engineering and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a technical-related position.
