SECTION 1: WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Nike’s Enterprise Data & Analytics Enablement team is working to reduce friction, maximize value, and increase trust in our data. Our purpose is to ensure that our internal customers are able to effectively leverage and adopt solutions that enable data-driven decisions.
- We’re looking for a Front End Solutions Engineer responsible for ensuring the technical success of Enterprise Data & Analytics’ (ED&As) internal customers. The Front End Solutions Engineer will bring ED&As best ideas, innovations, and capabilities to customers and match these to the customers’ business goals, driving greater business value and strategic alignment between ED&A and the customer. The Front End Solutions Engineer will be a trusted advisor to our strategic customers, ensuring the effective adoption and utilization of data and analytics products.
- The ideal candidate is technically adept and will rely on their strong knowledge of data & analytics processes (Product Management, Data Governance & Management, Data Engineering, Analytics and AI/ML), products, and automation. Their technical expertise will allow them to creatively explore and drive software-based data solutions with ED&A customers to drive business value of data assets. Their passion is ignited by their customer’s success—they will obsess over the creation of business value for our customers. SECTION 2: WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- As a Front End Solutions Engineer, you own ultimate responsibility for the customer’s awareness, adoption, and utilization of data & analytics capabilities and for the expansion of ED&As products within your portfolio. You promote maximum value from the customer’s engagement with ED&A, aiming for full utilization of ED&As products & processes, identify new opportunities, and collaborate with product, governance & engineering teams to ensure growth attainment and increased footprint
- Coach customers to ensure they are leveraging all available services such as Training, Working Groups, documentation, best practices, etc.
- Front End Solutions Engineer will partner closely with a variety of business partners including to shape the development of data and analytics products.
- Where appropriate, partner with the customer to establish a transformational Business Roadmap/Blueprint to ensure achievement of business goals.
- Effectively network within an organization from senior leadership down in order to achieve successful execution of the customer’s Blueprint where appropriate.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of typical business challenges faced by customers and common objectives to appropriately map ED&A capabilities & products and associated business benefits to address their needs.
- Identify risks to the customer achieving their stated business goals and work with the team to build a risk mitigation plan.
- Serve as a customer advocate in driving industry best practices and the evolution of ED&A product & platform functionality, courses, and support integral to the customer’s success.
- Contribute thought leadership and best practice, both internally and externally, around digital transformation with data—enabling customers to understand how to align all their growing data in real-time, across all sources and platforms & know how to use it to inform and transform.
SECTION 3: WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
- You will report into the Lead Data Visualization Engineer, Customer Success for Software Products, and will partner with internal customers as well as product and engineering teams.
SECTION 4: WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technical discipline, or equivalent level of experience in a frontend engineering, fullstack, engineering, data analysis, data visualization, data engineering, data quality or related field.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency using Typescript, React, and Next.Js
- Proficiency in Javascript, ES5/6, HTML, CSS, and various layouts
- Experience with REST based web services.
- Strong grasp of web application testing practices and tools like Jest, Cypress, and code-coverage instrumentation
- Understanding of key website design principles and ability to use client input to create functional, creative, and user-friendly web pages
- Experience with technical implementations of data and information/content solutions, particularly those involving data integration systems (e.g. Spark, NiFi, Kafka, Alteryx), predictive analytics and BI reporting (e.g. Tableau, Domo), machine learning, knowledge systems, and big data (Python, SQL).
- Strong knowledge of data & analytics processes (Product Management, Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI/ML), products & automation.
- Proven ability to work with business, technology and analytics leaders to identify, align on, and implement workable solutions to data requirements and challenges.
- Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialogue.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong consulting skills with change management concepts and strategies and proven results working as a trusted advisor to drive business value for customers.
- Ability to quickly grasp and distinctly explain technological and business concepts.
- Able to articulate the importance and value of Data & Analytics to Business and IT executives.
