Position:       People and Culture Officer

Location:      Numurkah and Cobram

EFT/Hours:  1.0 EFT (80 Hours Per Fortnight, including an Accrued Day Off every 4 weeks)

Status:          Permanent

Salary/ Hourly rate:  $32.10 to $39.57, depending on experience per hour plus 11.5% superannuation 

About the Role:

The People and Culture team is currently working through changes with the structure to meet our business needs. The People and Culture Officer role has recently been redesigned to support this change.

The People and Culture Officer role is a generalist human resources (HR) role that works closely with and provides support across the People and Culture team.

The role would suit a recent graduate in Human Resources Management (HRM) or a person with previous experience working in a HR Generalist role. This position will also suit a person with experience in an administration role within a People and Culture/HR team or with general recruitment experience.

Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

·        Recruitment advertising and vacancy management processes

·        Creation of contracts of employment and contract variations

·        Mandatory employment check compliance

·        Confirmation of working rights/visa status

·        HR systems user support

·        Workforce data reporting

This role will, as required, provide support to the following

·        Transition to Retirement, Parental Leave and Qualification allowance processes

·        HR policy review

·        Position description development and review

This role will be supported to build knowledge and experience across the broader People and Culture functions, with an opportunity for future growth within the People and Culture team.

The role is required to work across both the Numurkah and Cobram sites, as rostered.

What we are looking for:

  • Vaccination against Covid-19 is a mandatory requirement.
  • Certificate IV in HR or above or willingness to obtain such qualification, and with previous experience working within a People and Culture function for a minimum of 6 months, or a HR Graduate with experience gained through placement.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to document accurately.
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills including the ability to work in a changing environment, demonstrate flexibility and problem solving skills.
