About Us: MyState Bank has clear vision to drive growth by focusing on new customer acquisition and creating a strong brand presence in the market. Our Everyday Banking and Marketing division plays a critical role in realising this vision, and we are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager, Brand & Marketing Planning to join our team.

The Opportunity: This role initially is a six-month fixed term opportunity. The role is open to candidates in Melbourne and Hobart.

Role Overview: As the Senior Manager, Brand & Marketing Planning, you will be at the forefront of MyState’s marketing efforts, responsible for planning, executing, and optimising brand and customer acquisition activities. You will lead a team, collaborate with internal and external partners, and ensure that our brand strategy is consistently and effectively communicated across all customer touchpoints.

Working closely with key divisions, you will determine advertising priorities and ensure our operations are ready to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You'll manage the ongoing brand story across the organisation, maintaining a consistent brand presence and overseeing the development and governance of brand guidelines to ensure they align with our masterbrand design principles.

Additionally, you'll manage the brand and advertising budget, ensuring it meets our established plans and targets. Leading agency relationships, you'll ensure the successful execution of advertising campaigns, with a focus on consistently presenting brand messages and key customer value propositions across MyState’s retail network.

Your role will be instrumental in shaping how our brand is perceived in the market, driving growth and customer loyalty through strategic and creative excellence.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree-level education with 8+ years of experience in brand and advertising, particularly within retail financial services.
  • In-depth understanding of paid media across both traditional and digital channels, with experience in building and growing a challenger brand.
  • Strong experience in designing and delivering creative strategies that drive interest and action from targeted customer groups.
  • Proven capability to lead direct and agency teams to deliver impactful marketing activities.
  • Strong commercial and data acumen, with the ability to align marketing activities with business objectives.
  • Courageous, fast-moving decision-maker with a knack for making tough decisions without getting bogged down in unnecessary details.
