MRAEL are currently seeking a motivated Apprentice Fitter & Turner to join the team at SWB in Kewdale, WA. SWB was established over 50 years ago with their branch networks now extended to all of Australia. With a hands-on attitude, innovative approach, and commitment to work in conjunction with their customers, SWB will remain at the forefront of bearings and power transmission supply.

What's involved:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate who is interested in completing training and education as an apprentice with a view to becoming a trade-qualified Fitter & Turner. You will be learning alongside tradesmen and engineers to solve real problems in real time!

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Overhauling gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, driveshafts
  • Installing bearings on site
  • Dismantling, cleaning, assessing and measuring parts 
  • Assisting with small machining jobs 
  • Cleaning of the workshop 
  • Workshop deliveries (local area) 
  • Assisting with maintaining workshop equipment  
  • Sand blasting and spray painting

About you:

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

  • A positive attitude to learn in the workplace,
  • High level of mechanical aptitude,
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures, both written and verbal,
  • Ability to operate equipment and systems,

You must hold a current Drivers Licence.
