MRAEL are currently on the lookout for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Fitter & Turner to join a dynamic team with Thomas Borthwicks and Sons.

Our Client, Thomas Borthwicks and Sons oversee every step of the beef production process, from breeding and feedlotting to processing and packaging. Their operations are based in Bakers Creek, Queensland, a region known for its rich agricultural heritage. By selecting cattle from across Eastern Australia and raising them in optimal conditions with a nutrient-rich diet, they ensure that their beef maintains the superior marbling, tenderness, and flavor that their customers expect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with assembling, fitting and maintaining mechanical componentts and machinery
  • Carry our routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
  • Work alongside experienced tradespeople who will train and support you every step of the way

What we are looking for:

  • A strong interest in Fitting and Turning
  • Previous work experience or a pre vocational Certificate II in Engineering is highly regarded
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detil
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions and take on constructive feedback
  • A positive attitude, punctuality, and a commitment to safety.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must have received the Q Fever vaccination or willing to obtain, prior to commencing employment.
