This degree apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to complete a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Honours) whilst earning an income at ASC.
This Apprenticeship has been developed with Flinders University and ASC. It is a 5-year Degree Based Apprenticeship combining in-person and online learning with on-site workplace training. This will give you a unique, hands-on educational experience that will see you graduate as an experienced Mechanical Engineer.

Working as an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer will see you work in the Engineering department full time alongside our Mechanical Engineering teams. You will undertake rotations through each department to gain an understanding of Mechanical Engineering applications and your day-to-day duties will look as follows:
- Work tasks as required to complete hybrid university courses which will be assessed by your ASC mentor
- Project work as allocated by your supervisor / manager
- Performing discipline development activities using existing ASC tools and procedures
- Preparation of engineering documentation such as specifications, test procedures and engineering reports
- Flexibility to attend your university classes as well as study
Hours: 40-hour week Monday-Friday
Start Date: Late February
Our ideal Apprentice Mechanical Engineer will be readily adaptable to a working environment and eager to undertake different challenges and tasks in their daily activities. We’re looking for a natural problem solver, who shows integrity in their work and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. If you have a willingness to learn, and enjoy working in a team environment, then this role would be suitable for you.

- Meet the entry requirements for Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) (Honours) Degree
- Prerequisites
- SACE stage two specialist mathematics or mathematical methods or equivalent.
- Assumed knowledge
- Knowledge of SACE stage two physics or equivalent is assumed.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
