Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
- Perform all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software for scientific/engineering applications.
- Define system and software requirements.
- Analyse customer requirements and translate them into a design.
- Work with Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with your teams.
- Identify potential roadblocks and develop software solutions where the solution is not always well defined.
- Work to improve performance metrics through critical planning and execution of development tasks.
- Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against requirements.
- Collaborate with a team to define software requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, and software modernization.
- Strong expertise in software engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Familiarity with modern programming languages including Python, C++, Java, JavaScript etc
- Experience with full stack development and deployment (GUI development, databases, integration APIs, Docker, Kubernetes etc)
- Working in EW and defence experience preference.
- Experience with software quality assurance, testing, and validation.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience
- An understanding of Electronic Warfare
- Defence experience (Uniformed, APS or Contractor)
