About the Role:  

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected defence client known for setting the benchmark in aviation engineering and maintenance. As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical), you’ll be responsible for keeping mission-critical aircraft flying safely, efficiently, and on time.  

You’ll work on the Learjet 35A Special Mission Aircraft – a high-performance jet trusted for both business and military operations. With its twin engines, extended range, and elite capabilities, the Learjet is a favourite in specialist missions around the globe.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Perform and manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications, and repair activities.  
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to ensure timely delivery of serviceable aircraft.  
  • Compile, complete, and submit all airworthiness documentation within required timeframes.  
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory systems for all maintenance activities.  
  • Maintain and update relevant technical maintenance databases.  
  • Assist with quality audits and procedure reviews.  
  • Provide maintenance and logistics support during aircraft deployment.  
  • Contribute to program objectives, risk identification, strategic plans, and key performance indicators.  
  • Undertake travel within Australia and overseas as required.  

Technical Competencies:  

  • Experience in improving processes, systems, or products to enhance performance.  
  • Ability to manage small projects or processes within the area of responsibility.  
  • Advanced knowledge of Airworthiness Regulations (CASR/DASR).  
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office/365.

Qualifications:  

  • CASA Part 66 License (for CASA programs).  
  • Cert IV Aeroskills or DASA Part 66 License (for DASA programs).  
  • Aircraft or Aircraft Component System training.  
  • Human Factors and Error Management Awareness training.  
  • Aviation Safety Management System Awareness training.  

Experience:  

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience is desirable but not essential.  
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft maintenance.  
  • Experience in managing aircraft logistics support for base and deployed operations.  
  • Experience within civil or Defence aviation environments.  

Travel Requirements:  

There is a requirement to travel 3 months out of the year – on a rotating roster basis.  

Eligibility & Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants MUST be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required security clearance to be appointed to this position. Applicant eligibility is conditional on being granted and retaining the appropriate security clearances necessary to perform the duties of the role.
